Who is EmE?
Musical Artist / Singer/ Songwriter
Born Emelio McCrea, EmE (pronounced “Eh-me”) is a Jamaican musical artist and singer-songwriter from Kingston whose music blends Jamaican reggae rhythms with smooth modern R&B melodies and soulful vocals. Rooted in his native Jamaican culture, his sound is naturally drawn from reggae, soul, R&B, and dancehall, while his songwriting centers on faith, love, struggle, identity, growth, and the realities of everyday life.
After stepping away from music while serving in the U.S. Navy, EmE eventually returned to his artistic path with a renewed sense of direction. The years away gave him a different perspective on life and strengthened his belief that music can do more than entertain; it can communicate truth, challenge thought, offer encouragement, and connect people through shared experiences.
That philosophy shapes an artist who is comfortable moving across sounds while remaining grounded in where he comes from. EmE draws from Jamaica’s rich musical heritage while allowing soul and R&B to broaden his approach to melody, emotion, and storytelling. His warm, commanding voice moves between quiet reflection, smooth intimacy, melodic agility, conviction, and spiritual intensity, allowing the character of each song to shape the performance.
At the heart of EmE’s artistry is a simple principle: the song should mean something. Whether addressing faith, relationships, perseverance, social realities, self-discovery, or the search for something greater, he approaches each record with intention while giving the music room to take its own shape.
As his catalog continues to grow, EmE remains focused on creating music with substance, music grounded in culture, carried by feeling, and made to leave something behind long after the song ends.
